The idea for this blog was born one afternoon as some teachers were chatting about the need for time to just sit and talk, share ideas, and see what is working in other classrooms. At the Corner of Fourth and Excellence is a place for the teachers from our two buildings to share successes, failures, and everything in between.

I am a fourth grade ELA/content teacher whose primary goal is to see students become life-long independent readers. I work with an amazing team in an amazing school. Mom to three trouble-making kids and wife to a very talented, creative and crazy husband, I’m just trying to fit it all in in 24 hours. Thanks for visiting and being part of the conversation.  ~J Brittin
